Man treated in hospital after west Belfast beating

A 33-year-old man has been treated in hospital after being attacked by a number of men in west Belfast.

The man was walking along the Whiterock Road in Ballymurphy on Tuesday evening when he was struck on the head and knocked to the ground.

The men then punched and kicked him in the face and body.

The man suffered a split lip which required 21 stitches and he was treated for concussion. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
