Two men charged after Londonderry hammer attack

Two men are due to appear before Londonderry Magistrates Court later charged in connection with a hammer attack on a man in the city at the weekend.

The man suffered serious head and facial injuries after being assaulted when three men entered a house in Ebrington Street at 02:10 GMT on Saturday.

He was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Two men aged 26 and 41 have been charged with a number of offences.

These include aggravated burglary with intent to commit grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.
