Pipe bombs found in Dundalk derelict house

Irish police have discovered a number of pipe bombs at a derelict house in Dundalk, County Louth.

A spokesman said four devices were found in the house on the Old Dublin Road at about 14:30 GMT on Sunday.

An Irish army bomb disposal team was called and after examining the devices they confirmed they were viable.

Houses and a restaurant were evacuated during the alert and the army is expected to remain at the scene until early evening.
