Two hurt after attempted burglary in north Belfast

Two men have suffered cuts and bruising after an attempted burglary by an armed gang at a north Belfast apartment.

Police received reports of a disturbance at an apartment at 06:14 GMT on Sunday at Throne View.

Officers attended and a group of six men and and a woman left the property.

Shortly after 07:30 GMT, a group armed with weapons including knives and a hammer, attempted to gain entry to another apartment.

Two men aged 23 and 24 sustained cuts and bruising during the incident. Police said nothing was taken from the property and no-one gained access.
