Police appeal following west Belfast car hijacking

Police are appealing for information following the report of a hijacking on Kennedy Way in west Belfast on Friday.

At around 20:15 GMT a blue Nissan X Trail vehicle with a female driver and passenger on board had stopped on the approach to the roundabout for the Andersonstown Road.

Police say the car was approached by a man who opened the driver's door and pulled the driver from the vehicle.

He then ordered the passenger out and drove away with the vehicle.

Police say there were no reports of any injuries and the vehicle was recovered in the Downfine Gardens area shortly after 21:30 GMT.

The man was described as being between 30-40 years old and was wearing a grey hooded jacket.
