The Mary Peters track at Malone in Belfast was officially re-opened on Thursday after a £3m refurbishment.

Dame Mary Peters and Lord Mayor of Belfast Gavin Robinson opened the track.

It is the first major project to be completed as part of Belfast City Council's physical investment programme.

The upgrade includes an 8 lane track, a revamped field event area and spectators stand.

The track will be used to host the World Police and Fire Games this summer.
