Man attacked in north Belfast home on Sunday evening

A man has been treated in hospital after he was attacked at his home in north Belfast on Sunday evening.

Two men, armed with a hammer and a crowbar ,forced their way into his house in Ardoyne between 21:30 and 22:00 BST.

They assaulted him and then ransacked the house. The men left with a samurai sword, a knife and a mobile phone.

The victim was taken to hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The robbers made off in the direction of Hesketh.
