Roads reopen after Belfast city centre gas leak cleared

Part of Belfast city centre has been reopened after a gas leak.

The leak was at the old Shaftesbury Hospital at Shaftesbury Square, and Great Victoria Street, Dublin Road and Bruce Street were closed for a time.

Properties in close proximity to the hospital building were evacuated as the emergency services attended the scene.

The incident caused severe traffic congestion in the area for rush-hour commuters.
