Headline acts including Happy Mondays, Faithless and The Charlatans have been announced in the line-up for west Belfast's annual community festival.

Féile an Phobail (People's Festival) is marking its 25th anniversary and the organisers have said this year's celebrations will be the biggest ever.

The festival is staged over 11 days, beginning on 1 August.

More than 250 events are planned across 50 venues. As well as music, there will be drama, debates and street parties.

Other well-known performers include the comedian Patrick Kielty, folk singer Cara Dillon, classical group The Priests, and traditional musician Sharon Shannon.

Féile an Phobail director Kevin Gamble said it was the "most exciting line-up Féile has ever seen".

"In true Féile style, our 25th birthday is going to be a celebration of the very best of the west, and we're delighted to have so many big names taking part alongside the very best local talent."

The organisers will officially launch this year's programme at Conway Mill on the Falls Road later on Monday.
