Teenager to face riot charge in Belfast

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with riotous assembly and is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on Saturday.

The teenager was arrested in the Oldpark Road area of Belfast.

The arrest was in the early hours of Friday morning.

Police said a 16-year-old boy arrested in the Springfield Road area of Belfast during the early hours of Friday had been released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.
