Family rescued from cliff at Fair Head

A man has been taken to hospital after being rescued from a cliff at Fair Head off the County Antrim coast.

Red Bay RNLI lifeboat was launched to the scene at about 16:15 BST on Friday after reports that a family group of six were stranded at the base of rocks.

The lifeboat was joined at the scene by an Irish coastguard helicopter and local coastguard teams.

Two people were rescued by lifeboat and one airlifted by the helicopter.

It is understood the man taken to hospital had been experiencing heart problems.
