Men arrested and bailed as HMRC probe £2m VAT fraud

Two men have been released on bail after being arrested in connection with a suspected £2m VAT fraud connected to the transport industry in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) officers searched business and private addresses in counties Down and Tyrone on Tuesday.

They seized cash and business records relating to the allegations.

HMRC said they questioned both men and their investigations are continuing.
