Blind man punched in Bangor attack

A man who is registered blind has been assaulted in Bangor, County Down.

The attack happened at Castle Park Avenue at about 12:45 GMT on Saturday, although details have just been released.

The victim, who had his guide dog with him, had been involved in a minor verbal row with his attacker's wife.

He was punched in the chest by the man who then walked away. When the victim followed, he was punched in the chest a second time.

Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
