Police in Northern Ireland were called in to help Gardaí in a cross border hunt for two men who robbed a bank in County Monaghan on Friday evening.

The robbers got into the Ulster Bank at Castleblayney on Friday at about 17:00 GMT.

They made off with a sum of money. A garda press officer said that they made their escape in a white van along the Dublin Road.

He said that Irish police requested help from the PSNI.

There were no reports of injuries during the robbery and there are no details about how much money was taken.
