A man charged with causing grievous bodily harm to his three-month-old daughter, who died last week, has been released on bail.

Christopher O'Neill, 23, of Glasvey Park in Twinbrook appeared via videolink from Maghaberry Prison.

He was granted bail on Friday, but released on Monday after his solicitor handed in his passport to the police.

A judge at Lisburn Magistrates' Court also ruled he could not leave Northern Ireland until his case is heard.

His daughter, Cárágh Walsh, died on Friday after being taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital earlier in the week.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out in the next few days.

Mr O'Neill is due back in court in Lisburn on 10 March.
