The jury has been sworn in in the trial of a 19-year-old County Tyrone man accused of shooting his father dead.

Sean Hackett is charged with the murder of 60-year-old Aloysius Hackett outside the family home in Aghindarragh Road in Augher in January last year.

Mr Hackett senior was a former chairman of St Macartan's GAA Club in Augher.

Sean Hackett denies the charge and two of possessing a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life.

The jury of six men and six women at Dungannon Crown Court were told the trial was expected to last one to two weeks.
