A warrant has been issued for the arrest of the former Manchester United and Northern Ireland international footballer Keith Gillespie.

Gillespie, 39, of Ballycrochan Avenue, Bangor, County Down failed to turn up at Newtownards Magistrate's Court.

He had been on bail charged with breaching an order that required him to stay away from a particular area of north Down.

The judge said Gillespie had breached his bail so he issued the warrant.

Gillespie won 86 international caps for his country during his career.
