Man charged over Carrickfergus house arson attack

A 19-year-old man has been charged after three houses were damaged in an arson attack in Carrickfergus, County Antrim, on Saturday.

The houses in Broadlands Gardens were damaged after one of them and an oil tank were reportedly set on fire.

The man faces five charges of arson with intent to endanger life.

He is further accused of placing an article causing a bomb hoax and communicating false information causing a bomb hoax.

He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Monday.
