Man charged over mortar bomb find in west Belfast

A 22-year-old man has been charged in connection with the seizure of an improvised mortar bomb in west Belfast.

The man was arrested in the Shaw's Road area at about 23:00 GMT on Thursday.

He is due to appear in Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday to face charges of having explosives with intent to endanger life.

A holdall containing a bomb and command wire was seized by police. Bomb disposal officers made the device safe.
