Woman attacked on street in Belfast

Police are investigating a serious assault on a woman in Belfast city centre.

The 26-year-old was assaulted by a man in Arthur Lane, off Chichester Street, just after midnight on Friday.

The attacker is described as being in his early 20s, wearing a blue hooded top with blond hair. He was with two other men at the time of the assault.

The street was cordoned off by police who have appealed for information.

Anyone who was in the Arthur Lane/Upper Arthur Street or Patterson's Place area is being asked to contact detectives on the new non-emergency number 101.
