Sean McParland murder: Woman arrested in Newtownabbey released

A 45-year-old woman arrested by police investigating the murder of a man in north Belfast 20 years ago has been released pending a report to the PPS.

Sean McParland, 55, was shot while babysitting in Skegoneill Avenue in February 1994. He died a week later.

The woman was arrested in Newtownabbey, County Antrim, on Tuesday morning.

She was questioned by detectives as part of Operation Stafford, which is examining murders and other serious crimes by the UVF in north Belfast.
