Richard McAuley charged with murder of Denise Dunlop in Ballymena

A 41-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murdering his partner in County Antrim.

Denise Dunlop, 32, died at her home in Centuripe Avenue, Ballymena, early on Sunday. It is understood she had been stabbed a number of times.

Richard McAuley, of Townhill Road in Portglenone, appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday.

He was remanded in custody to appear in court again on 10 July.

During the brief hearing, a detective said he believed he could connect the accused to the charge.
