Police officers injured during car chase
Three police officers have been injured during a collision with a car that was being pursued in west Belfast.
Police were following a car that was reported to have been involved in robbery bid at a shop on Lockview Road, south Belfast.
Two police cars were damaged and three officers injured in the collision with the car. A suspect firearm was also recovered from the vehicle.
The officers' injuries are not life-threatening. A man has been arrested.
It is understood that two men got out of the car while one man remained in the driver's seat outside the shop in Lockview Road.
One of the men is believed to have been carrying a firearm.
Staff at the store locked the doors preventing the men access to the shop and the men then got back into the car and made off.
A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted armed robbery, carrying a firearm with intent and attempted grievous bodily harm with intent in the Ardmoulin Street area of west Belfast on Monday.
The police are appealing for information about the movements of the silver Audi A3 car.
The Police Ombudsman has been informed about the incident.
