Woman accused of trying to identify protected witnesses
A 32-year-old woman from County Antrim has been charged with collecting information likely to be of use to terrorists while working for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.
Charlene Pierce, from Harmin Park, Newtownabbey, is accused of trying to identify people currently in the police witness protection scheme on dates between 25 and 28 June.
She was also charged with misconduct in public office.
She was granted bail with conditions.
These include living at her home address; no contact with the people, or their families, in a list provided to the court, or with crown witnesses.
She was also banned from leaving Northern Ireland without prior approval by police, nor can she apply for an Irish or British passport.
An investigating officer of the Police Service of Northern Ireland told Belfast Magistrates' Court he believed he could connect her to the charge.
