John Boreland shooting: Three men released

Three men who were arrested in connection with the attempted murder in north Belfast have been released.

The trio, aged 40, 38 and 37, were detained on Friday.

It follows the shooting of prominent loyalist John Boreland, near the Ballysillan Road on Wednesday 20 August.

The 44-year-old was shot in the leg, while fellow loyalist Andre Shoukri escaped injury.

Detective Inspector Trevor Brier said all three men have been released pending a report to the PPS.
