A man has been left shaken after a shooting incident at a house in Ballymoney in County Antrim on Tuesday evening.

Police said a number of men entered the house in the town's Henry Street and fired at him.

He was not injured. The incident occurred at about 23:30 BST.

Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay condemned the attack in the town and said it was "fortunate" that no-one had been injured.

"The people who carried out this attack are living in the past and there is no reason for bringing guns onto the street," he said.

"The entire community are opposed to these attacks and the people behind them need to go away. Anyone with information on this attack should bring it forward to the PSNI."
