Man in hospital after arson attack at Antrim home

A man has been taken to hospital after an arson attack at a house in Antrim.

The blaze broke out the property in the Donore Crescent area before 03:10 BST on Wednesday morning.

Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and the fire was extinguished.

A 29-year-old man required treatment for smoke inhalation but his injuries are not believed to be serious.

A number of other properties in the area are also believed to have been damaged.

Det Serg McKendry said: "Enquiries are continuing, but it is believed the fire was started deliberately."
