Belfast hijacking: Woman punched and pulled from car on Apsley Street

Police have appealed for information after a woman was attacked in a car hijacking in Belfast on Friday.

The incident happened on Apsley Street at about 20:45 BST and involved two men.

The woman was pulled out of her car and punched by one of the men who also attempted to take her handbag.

The police said the woman wrestled free and ran off. The two males then made off in the car.

It was found on fire at Laurelbank, Dunmurry, at 01:00 BST on Saturday morning.
