Cash-in-transit van robbed by armed gang in north Belfast

Police are investigating an armed robbery of a cash-in-transit van in north Belfast.

It happened about 14:30 GMT on Friday outside a post office on the Oldpark Road.

Police believe one of the two men involved was armed with a gun.

The thieves made off with a cash box in the direction of Cliftondene Crescent before getting into a silver Volvo. It was later recovered by police in Havana Walk.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
