Margaret Evans murder accused remanded to Maghaberry hospital wing
A Portstewart man accused of murdering his mother has had his bail revoked.
Alun Evans, from Knockancor Drive, had been detained at the Shannon clinic in Belfast under the Mental Health Act, but the order was not renewed.
The 32-year-old appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Thursday where he was remanded to the hospital wing at Maghaberry prison.
The court heard the medical team that has been treating him to date would continue to monitor his condition.
Margaret Evans, who was 69, was found dead at her home on 4 June this year.
Alun Evans is also charged with possession of a class B drug with intent to supply. He will reappear via video link on 29 December.
