Police are investigating reports that a shot was fired inside a bar in Londonderry.

It happened in the Creggan area of the city at about 18:30 GMT on Saturday. No injuries have been reported.

Masked men are believed to have entered the Telstar bar, looking for an individual, and fired in the air.

SDLP assembly member Pat Ramsey said: "It's Creggan again, unfortunately - the good image of Creggan has been tarnished. It's a disgrace."

Sinn Féin councillor Kevin Campbell said: "They represent no-one - I think that has to be emphasised very strongly."

Ch Insp Andy Lemon said: "Police investigations into this report are ongoing, and I appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area around this time or anyone who has information about the incident to contact detectives."
