Willowbrook Fine Foods creates 55 jobs in Killinchy

A new County Down food business is creating 55 jobs with an average salary of about £19,000.

Willowbrook Fine Foods, Killinchy, is to develop ranges of ready meals for sale in Britain and the Republic of Ireland.

Enterprise minister Arlene Foster said it is an investment worth £2.3m.

She said 16 of the jobs would be senior posts in management and marketing, the others would be in processing.

John McCann, the company's director, said: "This is the creation of innovative and premium ready meals and accompaniments.

"The company will process and market more than 25 products in the pipeline, all aimed at the mid to high-end market sectors in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

"The initiative is proving extremely popular and has already gained listings from key retailers."

Invest Northern Ireland is providing £192,500 assistance through their Jobs Fund.

The company is an off-shoot of Willowbrook Foods.
