North Belfast burglary: Man assaulted in bedroom of Crumlin Road home

An 18-year-old man has been assaulted after waking to find a man with a knife in the bedroom of his north Belfast home.

It happened shortly after midnight on Saturday night on the Crumlin Road.

The burglar threatened the man, then dragged him from the bed, assaulted him and ransacked a number of rooms.

He stole a laptop and a mobile phone, then left. The victim and two other people in the house, a man and a woman, were left shaken but uninjured.

The burglar was described as being about 5ft 7ins tall, of heavy build with short shaved hair.

He was wearing a light grey t-shirt, tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
