Family escapes after van set alight in Rostrevor

A van set alight outside a house in County Down is being treated by police as arson with intent to endanger life.

The fire spread to the house on Kilbroney Road in Rostrevor, setting the porch alight.

A couple and their two sons in their 20s were in the house when the fire started just before 05:30 BST on Saturday. No one was injured.

Two cars parked outside were also badly damaged.

Police have appealed for anyone who noticed suspicious activity in the area to contact them.
