Greenisland attack: Man charged with Ambulance crew assaults

A man has been charged after two paramedics were assaulted and their ambulance damaged in County Antrim on Sunday morning.

It happened at Knockleigh Drive in Greenisland at about 06:50 BST.

Police said a man attacked a woman in her 30s, before assaulting the ambulance crew. He smashed a windscreen on the ambulance and caused damage to a defibrillator.

A 42-year-old man has been charged with assault and criminal damage.

He is to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on 15 May.

He is also to be reported to the Public Prosecution Service for the alleged possession of a Class C drug.
