Police in mystery head injury appeal in north Belfast

Police have appealed for help in finding out how a man sustained a serious head injury in north Belfast.

A passer-by found the 53-year-old at Premier Drive at about 02:30 BST on Saturday.

Det Sgt Melanie McGrory said they had established his identity but it was not known how he was injured.

"We believe the man left a bar in the Shore Road area at about 01:20 BST and we are keen to trace his movements," she said.

Appealing for information from anyone who might have seen him at the time, she described him as heavily built with dark hair.

He was wearing dark trousers and a dark top at the time.
