Augher stabbing: Man is charged with attempted murder

Detectives have charged a 29-year-old man with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

It follows an incident in Augher, County Tyrone, on Thursday night, in which a 40-year-old man sustained stab wounds to his stomach.

The 29-year-old man is due to appear at Omagh Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

A 23-year-old man who was arrested has been released on bail pending police enquiries.
