Princess Anne opens phase one of Ulster University's new Belfast campus

Princess Anne unveils the plaque

Princess Anne has opened the the first phase of Ulster University's campus project in Belfast city centre.

She unveiled a plaque officially opening the building in York Street and signed a visitors' book.

Students presented the princess with a piece of jewellery based on the Giant's Causeway.

The building is part of a planned 75,000 square metre campus that is intended to serve up to 15,000 students and staff.

The £250m investment will create a hub for research and innovation.

The princess was greeted by civic leaders, First Minister Arlene Foster and Employment and Learning Minister Stephen Farry.
