Portadown: Man charged with attempted murder after Abercorn Park stabbing

A 31-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed in Portadown, County Armagh.

Police were called to the scene of the attack in Abercorn Park shortly before midnight on Wednesday.

Officers found a 34-year-old man had been attacked with a knife and hammer and had sustained injuries to his head and shoulder.

The accused has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

He is due to appear at Craigavon Magistrates' Court on Friday, 6 May.
