Suspected cocaine worth £500,000 seized at Belfast City Airport

More than 10 kilos of suspected cocaine has been seized at George Best Belfast City Airport.

The drugs, with an estimated street value of more than £500,000, were discovered during Border Force checks on Sunday.

On Tuesday, a man from the Republic of Ireland appeared at Belfast Magistrates Court charged with the illegal importation of a Class A drug.

Shane James Delaney, 30, from Kilkenny, was remanded in custody.

He will reappear at the same court next week.
