Bomb found during alert in Carnlough

A bomb has been found in Carnlough, County Antrim.

It is understood the device was found at a house in the Drumalla Park/Bay Road area of the town.

Drumalla Park and the Bay Road were closed after the device was found on Monday morning. The alert has now ended and the roads have been reopened.

The device has been removed by Army bomb experts. There are no further details as to what type of device it was.

Sinn Féin MLA Oliver McMullan said those responsible had "brought nothing but disruption to the local community".

He said a number of people had been moved from their homes during the alert.

There is also an ongoing alert in Ballycastle after a suspicious object was found at Quay Raod.
