A pipe bomb has been found at a house in west Belfast, police have said.

Officers were called to deal with the security alert at Andersonstown Crescent at about 00:30 BST on Tuesday.

A number of homes were evacuated and roads were closed for several hours while it was examined.

The device was made safe and residents were allowed back to their homes just before 03:30 BST. Police have appealed for information.
