Four people have been left badly shaken after a number of shots were fired at a house in Lurgan.

They were asleep upstairs in the house in Princes Street when the attack happened at about 02:00 BST on Monday.

No-one was injured but the front door and living room window were damaged. The PSNI have said they are treating the incident as a hate crime.

DUP MLA Carla Lockhart said such incidents "tarnish the good name of Lurgan and the people that live there".

"Nobody should have to live in fear of attacks like this", she added.

Sinn Féin MLA Catherine Seeley said: "Fortunately no-one was injured but it must have been a frightening experience for those nearby.

"There is no place whatsoever for attacks like these in our society."

Police are appealing for anyone who may have information or witnessed any suspicious activity in the area to contact detectives at Lurgan on the non-emergency number 101, or to contact Crimestoppers to speak anonymously on 0800 555 111.
