Software firm to create 60 new jobs

An Irish IT company is expanding its Belfast operation in a move which it said will create 60 jobs.

Software developers, Version 1, said the expansion comes after "winning substantial new business". The jobs will be created in the next two years.

It first opened in Belfast five years ago and its existing Northern Ireland customers include the pharmaceutical company, Almac.

The Belfast expansion will see its workforce double to 120.

The company are based at the city's Gasworks site and has its headquarters in Dublin.

Version 1, who has more than 900 staff based around Ireland and the UK, said it expects to turn over £93m in 2017.
