A suspect device has been found under a prison officer's car in Ballygowan, County Down.

The officer was at his home in Carson's Dale with his wife and four children when it was found at around 19:45 BST on Thursday.

Neighbours were moved from their homes for three hours before army experts removed the device for examination.

Local DUP MP Jim Shannon said the officer was targeted previously in an alert that turned out to be a hoax.
