Calls to a Donegal counselling service for victims of child abuse have soared since the conviction of paedophile, Michael Ferry.

The 55-year-old, from Gweedore, was jailed for 14 years in July after pleading guilty to molesting and raping children.

An investigation is underway into why Ferry was allowed to work in a school despite previous convictions.

The counselling service said the case had led to a 50% increase in calls.
