Safe is stolen from Limavady United Football Club

Thieves have stolen a substantial sum of money from Limavady United Football Club.

They cut through a metal door at the back of the store and removed a safe on Sunday night or Monday morning.

Club chairman David Young said it was a setback.

"They stole all the takings for the week, it's difficult times and it takes a lot to run a football club as a business," he said.

"There must have been two at least four people and there must have been a van or lorry to transport the safe."
