Donegal father killed by falling tree

A father of five from County Donegal has died after a tree fell on him.

Danny Gallagher, 47, was helping his brother cut down trees near Termon when he was killed.

Neighbour Teresa McDaid said he "loved his children, loved his work, and loved his farm".

Irish police are investigating the cause of the accident, but a spokesperson said it is believed to have been a tragic accident.

Mrs McDaid said the parish was "just in pieces about it".

"I've known him since he was a baby, and he was always ready to help anybody."

Another neighbour, who did not give her name, described him as kind and hard-working.

"He was a real gentleman. He'll be a real loss to the area."
