Irish army soldier cleared of rape
An Irish army soldier has been found not guilty at Londonderry Crown Court of raping a woman in Derry last year.
Stephen Healy, 30, from Meenan Drive, Derry, was also cleared of indecent assault by unanimous verdict.
He had denied committing the offences at the woman's home in Rosemount in May last year after the pair had been out drinking.
His family clapped and hugged him as he was released from the dock.
The 30-year-old woman who had made the allegations against the soldier was not in court for the verdicts.
