Small number test positive for E.coli in Donegal - HSE

A small number of people have tested positive for E.coli in County Donegal, according to the Health Service Executive.

Dr Anthony Breslin from the Department of Health said the outbreak was in Inch Island.

He said they are still trying to establish the source of the infection, but a link to the water supply has been ruled out.

The HSE said that in the majority of cases, patients get better by themselves without further treatment.

They have advised that washing their hands thoroughly is the best way to reduce the spread of germs like E.coli.
